Flagship Project
We are excited to launch our revised project plan, running from May 2026 to December 2028, specifically designed to address the physical and mental wellbeing of Croydon's over-50s African Black men.
We will use a mix of outdoor activity, creativity, and education to improve lifestyles and combat isolation.
What We Will Do
01
An Open-Day to promote the project and welcome new members.
02
Guided walks to boost happiness, encourage nature enjoyment, and provide a relaxed setting for conversation. Participants will capture their walks with phone cameras.
03
Using photos taken on walks as a starting point, participants share stories, discuss experiences, and write narratives compiled into a photographic exhibition.
04
Interactive sessions using food experiences to discuss key health issues like obesity, prostate health, high blood pressure, and diabetes.
05
Training for our management team and volunteers to ensure the project's long-term success.
06
Creation of a website and social media channels to market activities and build an ongoing community.
07
A final event with guest speakers and other organizations to share our journey and findings.
